Cookham Community Bay
Cookham Community Bay is a non-profit making operation run on behalf of Holy Trinity Church, Cookham.
Its aim is to provide a facility for local residents and businesses to sell unwanted items on eBay in return 35% commission. The balance retained, less operating costs, will be shared between Elizabeth House and Holy Trinity Church. Users of the service are able to turn unwanted goods into cash; support the local community and help the environment by the re-use of goods.
Since launch, more than 800 items have been sold ranging from a Pewter Cigarette Box which sold for 99p to a set of Garden Furniture at over £500! A buyer was even found for a 14ft Skiff at over £330!
Bids of some £35,000 have been received in total and more than £12,500 has been shared between the church and Elizabeth House.
Drop items off at Elizabeth House, Station Hill, Cookham on the first Saturday of every month between 9.30am and 1.00pm - we'll do the rest.
